Meaning of Atreyu or Atreju

I like the name because it unique and unusual. Aside from being a character's name in Neverending Story. I can't seem to find it's origin or meaning. In the story it belongs to a native american boy, but I don't know if it really is native american. My daughter said it was of greek origin, but I don't if she meant 'it greek to me' or if it's Greek origin. If anyone can clear this up, I would appreciate it. This is one of those nagging questions, that has never gone away.

Hello Mary Atreyu actually has 2 separate meaning depending on your culture. In its German roots it means"son of all" which is where never ending story gets the name from. In it's Indian origin (Hindu I Indian not Native American) it means great warrior.
