Please help discover meaning of MYRTEZ |

Both my mother and my grandmother were named "Myrtez" at birth, yet I cannot find a single resource for it's meaning and it's driving me and my family mad.
My mom uses "Mitzie" and I think that means "bitter".
But what does Myrtez mean and where does it come from?
