I've added the ability to search for the popularity of names. Go to the Most Popular Names page to try it.
With it you can see the sudden rise in popularity of some names:
http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=jaden&gender=both&srp=p
The decline of others:
http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=adolph&gender=both&srp=p
And you can compare the popularity of variants:
http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=curt+kurt&gender=both&srp=p
