I suppose this name has its origin to the Sanskrit word "Shiven" which means "by Shiva." I have heard this name in a couple of new Hindi films. "Shibin" or "Shiben" might be its corrupted pronunciation.

Besides the way Bengalis pronounce Dhirendra as Dhiren, Narendra as Naren, Vinay as Binoy etc. it could be a "form" of Shivendra as well.

I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me.
