Hi, Claire!

No,I'm not Jewish, just interested in Judaism. I studied biblical Hebrew and took some Ivrith courses (but this was 20 years ago and unfortunately I can't speak it any more). I even took one class in Aramaic, but all I can remember is the Hebrew word "zikukim dinur" for "fireworks" which is a loan word from Aramaic.

I've been singing Hebrew and Yiddish songs for a number of years, so I know a bit of Yiddish (it is quite similar to German, but too many Slavic words in it which I don't understand).

I haven't come across a good Jewish name book, do you know one? SO with all non biblical Jewish names I'm sort of guessing.

How is your Hebrew? Did you learn it at school?
