I'm under the impression, from a few web sources I've run across, that Channery might be from a Thai name, Channary. I don't know how that would be pronounced for sure, but probably like chin. Any Thai people?
Bringing it over to English, people would likely pronounce it like chin, channel; because there's already an English word channery (geological) that's pronounced like that. I have heard the name pronounced like that in the U.S.
