The African name Rokia
There is a female singer, Rokia, from Mali in Africa. I don't know what language/s they spead in Mali. If I google, I find a lot about the singer but nothing about her name."But it’s all right now.

Since Mali is a predominantly Muslim country, there is some chance that Rokia is a local variation of Ruqayya, a name used throughout the Arab world because it was the name of one of Muhammad's daughters, but that's just a guess and you'd need independent confirmation.

Thank you, it sounds probable. Rokia looks much easier to spell than Ruqayya. "But it’s all right now.

Thank you, I think the concert I saw was from Paris. Her father was a diplomat so they probably spoke French. But I don't think Rokia is a French name. And I don't know anything about Bambaran names."But it’s all right now.

I tried looking for a list of 'Bambaran' names but it just doesn't exist :I think that unless somebody asked Rokia herself or somebody who is actually familiar with names from Mali... you won't have any luck.Sorry!
