Behind the Name: Message: "Greek equivalent to RENATUS?"

RENATUS, as far as I can see, is obviously taken from the Latin bible (1. Peter 1,23). Was there an earlier equivalent in Greek? Based on the Christian idea of being "born again"? Some other idea? Or maybe reincarnation? What about other languages and cultures?
