My name
I was playing around with my name on the google speaking thing and I noticed that it accidentally searched after I said my name, Emer! Then I saw a LOT of question on how to say my name! But for as you know my parents both are 100% Irish so they do say the Irish way. Another way that most people spell it is Eimear. That is the Irish spelling but my parents thought that Emer would be more simple. My parents then did move to America and that is where I live now! But now I get back to the way to pronounce it. It is pronounced Émer. With a LONG "E". Also, almost everyone in the country of America says my name totally wrong. They say with a SHORT "E". But I would just like to clear up that it is pronounced with a LONG "E"!!!!!
Thank you for your time!

I think that because of all of the Emmas and Emilys around right now (they've been top ten names for several years), Americans automatically say the EM er because it starts the same way, not just because they aren't familiar with your name.
