Re: is haku a real name or not?????
Haku is the name of a character in Japanese anime, and means "white" in Japanese:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haku_(Naruto)However, that is no guarantee that real people have been named Haku in Japan (though it seems fairly likely to me.) Also, Haku is such a short name that it's also likely that that combination of sounds has been used as a given name by other cultures at some point in the world's history. There are only so many different combinations of sounds that can make up words and names, after all. Finally, your friend could certainly have "made up" the name on the own as he describes without having been aware of the anime character.
