Meaning of name 'Kajem'
Hey everyone, I'm hoping one of you can help me out. I am pregnant and looking/reading about names for my baby.
My great grandmother was originally from Java (Indonesia) and her name was 'Kajem'. I love the sound of this name and thinking about naming my baby after her, when it's a girl. But before I do that; I would loooove to know the meaning of this name, no one in my family seems to know. Please please help me out! Thank you very much and looking forward to the result. :) Regards, CHKLM

Hmm, let's see... I'm not good at research, but I'll give it a go. Firstly, do you definitely know that that was how she spelt her name? It looks like it makes sense, but it's best to make sure, I think. But anyway. Research! It's not on the surname site or first name site here, or in any messages not in deep archive, but that would be a long shot anyway.
Next tool: translators. Apparently, Kajem means 'regret', 'repent', 'we repent', or 'I repent' in Bosnian, Czech, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, and Croatian, which is, then, a meaning, though not the Indonesian one. When translating from Indonesian, sadly, no meaning is shown. But, when you translate from Javanese, Sundanese, or Malayan, it means 'sharp'. So that is the Javanese meaning of the name. In case you're interested, the Persian transcription means 'where I am' and the Russian transcription means 'we show'.
I also did a quick Google to try and find any more information. The results all seemed to be about a type of music, which is a shame. But, anyway, I hope I helped! I certainly enjoyed trying to, anyway.
