I had a friend by the name Mael and she told me her name was Gaelic; I'd be curious to know what it means or to know anything else about it. It's not listed in the database as a name but Mael in some way appears in the descriptions of Cadfael (Welsh, "prince"), Armel (from 'Celtic element,' also "prince"), Maeleachlainn (Irish, "devotee"), Malcolm (Scottish and English, "disciple"), and Marmaduke (English, also "disciple").

I'm making assumptions that those are straightforward meanings and that the name was just taken from those words. Can anyone confirm/deny/add to that? Thanks!
