Bethzy
I noticed this name appeared for the first time on the US top 1000 in 2006, but never appeared again afterwards. I'm guessing it was a fad name since it only appeared once.My question is how did the name get a spike in popularity in 2006? Was it used in a movie or TV show?

Seems highly likely that Bethzy Zamorano influenced the debut of Bethzy (and the rise of its variants as well). The year before, she appeared along with her partner, actor/comedian Adrián Uribe, in Bailando por un Sueño, which was broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas in Mexico, and they were runner-ups in the first season.

For the record--in Spanish, Bethzy is pronounced just like Betsy. So it's not really a new name but rather a variant spelling.

Ahhh...that's where I've got it wrong. I should have checked the stats for Bethzy as well but thank you for pointing that out.
