I venture to guess this is just a variant of Evelyn. Some people seem to "hear" a D on the end of names ending with -lyn, especially if the name is slightly unfamiliar. I know a Katelyn who was born in the early 1970s, before that name was widespread, and it was amazing how often people wrote her name as "Katelind" or some version thereof. I've also seen Ashlynd for Ashlyn. Perhaps the existence of the pair Rosalind/Rosalyn reinforces this.
