Mmmm... makes me think of Militrissa (a courtisan in Russian Folklore). That name comes from "meretrix", courtisan in Latin...

I have heard of the name Tressa, but only as short for Theresa. I'm not that keen on it - it sounds too much like an item of furniture! (Dresser).
