Origin and meaning
My friend with the name Jandene is a lady who has only been able to find meanings for the components of her name ie Jan and Dene. We'd like to know if anyone has any further information on the name Jandene please?

After some research I had to give up too, but here you have some alternatives:
1. The name is a diminutive of Jan, like the Dutch name Jantine. (This is just a theory, not based on facts)2. Jandene is an alternative spelling of Jadene, which means "green stone". This is a variation Jaden. (also just a theory)

3. It is an alternative spelling of Yandene. After doing some research on Facebook, there seemed to be many of African ancestry with this spelling. Knowing the word Yandene means "has/have grown" in Chichewa, Shona, Sotho, Swahili, Xhosa and Zulu (according to Google Translate), this name is most likely an African name (though not comfirmed). This theory scatters when you let Jandene go trough Google translate and Facebook as well. Most People With Jandene as their first name were either from the American continent (mostly Brazil and the US) or from an English speaking country. Jandene means "wander" in Shona, Sotho, Swahili, Xhosa and Zulu, and is therefore most likely not an alternative spelling of Yandene, though it might still be an African name. I truly feel your frustration on this one. It is used all over the world, and there isn't i single speck of infomation about the name Jandene anywhere. Jandene being a combination of Jan and Dene is not unlikely, though.
I wish you luck on your search of the true meaning.

Perhaps her parents were fans of the pop group Jan and Dean? Sort-of precursors of the Beach Boys. Good band, and their names together work very well.
