Is this Estonian female name a variant of Irene?

It looks like Irén is used more, but both are a variant of Irene(reliable source: http://www.meertens.knaw.nl/nvb/verklaring/naam/Iren) I just can't find if in Estonian in particular it could possibly have a different origin, but I doubt it.

The woman I know with this name calls herself by a different name which shares an Estonian name day with Irena. Of course, the name day is also shared with Renate, but I doubt Iren is a variant of that name.Thanks!
