Ethne
I was watching the film Four Feathers and there is a character named Ethne pronounced Eth-nee. I searched the name here and it seems that isn't a typical pronunciation (the typical being Enya). The character was set in the UK. I'm wondering if there is more information about this pronunciation?~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~ "I'm Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Third. Here in South Africa it's also pronounced Eth-nee, or it was while it was in use. It's presumably a spelling pronunciation that would look convincing in places where Irish names are not in general use.
