ArchivesOrigins of the name "Jedda"
someone below posted about the name "samanie" and had some success. on the same show (rock school) there is a guy named "Jedda". i've tried finding the etymology of it but with little success. could anyone else help?

I'm fairly sure Jedda is a nickname based on the kid's surname, probably Jedson or something like that. It seems to be a common thing for boys to nn each other in this way, so I know boys who go by Cookie, Jev, and Dex, for example.

Jedda is the name of a wild bird, and there is also a city in Saudi Arabia named Jeddah.
