Alice =p
I was looking through the comments for the name Alice, and one of them was;Alice comes from the Greek word "alikè", meanining "daughter of the sea".Is this in any way correct? I have never heard this one before, and yet it wasn't corrected so I don't know.Thankyou,
Alice

There's a disclaimer stating that the Comments aren't moderated. So people are free to fantasise, and some of 'em do. They also get quite snappy sometimes, wrangling about the respective meanings given by their favourite sites ... you know the kind of thing: My name means Ancient Princess of the Forest Dawn, because I saw it somewhere ...

No, it's made up. Alice is an English name of German origin. The Greek word for sea is "thalassa".Short and sweet like Swedish summer....
