Hi.
I think it is because of my handle name. I am a male Japanese.
One of the most famous "mishiki" is me, because I did some commercial illustration works. In my Chinese characters, "mishiki" literally means "not awakened yet".

But, there are people who really named "Mishiki" in Japan.
A few years ago, A boy mailed me that his first name is the same as my handle name.
Also, you could find some "mishiki" in the following search, which collects more then 110,000 Japanese girls name.
