Snicklefritz

Ever since I was little, my father has called me Snicklefritz and just now I have wondered what it means. I found out that he called me a nickname that means "smily cat" in German a few times. So I'm guessing that the origin is German but I'm not sure. If anyone has any leads please reply.

Schnicklefritz is the German word for a mischievous or talkative child.

It is a term of endearment in German meaning a mischievous or talkative child, not smelly cat! Lol

Me too my Dad always called us that and now I call my granddaughter that and just now looked it up. Yes guessing German because my Dad was German.

My grandma always calls my brother snicklefritz and she was born and raised in Germany , it's a term of endearment but could also mean "noisy child"

I'm German but I've never heard anything like that before. It could come from a word in some regional accent, though. But it's deffenitly not a common word. "Smily cat" would be "Grinsekatze" - is that that what he called you? It's the German name of the Cheshire Cat.
