Re: Chelsea
A lot of surnames used as first names used to be male, and are now used for females. A good exmple of this is Ashleigh, who was a southern gentleman that Scarlett O'Hara was in love with in the book and movie Gone With The Wind. When I think of Chelsea I think of President Bill Clinton's daughter.

Just a minor correction: the southern gentleman character in Gone With the Wind was Ashley Wilkes. An example of a male who spells his name Ashleigh is the cartoonist Ashleigh Brilliant:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashleigh_Brilliant

Oh, for some reason I thought it was spelled that way. I've met a lady who has a son named Courtney (Court for short), a real estate agent man named Leslie, and other men with names that used to be masculine. I've heard that they are using names like Ryan, Rory, Devin, Quinn, and Shawn for girls now. I always thought of them as masculine names, the secretary at my high school, 7 years ago, was named Shawn.
