Well it depends on what you focus on in the article:

The list came as a response to the growing number of Malaysians who are applying to change their birth names.

I think this makes it sort of the governments business. If a lot of people don't feel they can live with the name they've been given, I'm happy someone decided to prevent children from being named: K8y, Lobster or Banana.
