Hi, Rebecca. Mattea is a lovely name, and it's also well-known in Italy for baby girls. An Italian Google seach on "Mattea" reveals a number of women in Italy who bear that name. Also, "Mattea" can be found listed as a proper feminine name in the Italian Wiktionary:
