Subject: etimology of "Zalma, Zalmey,Zalmie"

This is the name of a gtgtuncle in my HENDRIX lineage. This name goes back to Denmark before the Revolution. It is so unusual, I decided to try to find its' origin, etc. I found "Zalmon" as a yiddish version of Solomon. Naturally, I realize that ZALMA could just be a derivation, but wanted to see if anyone else had another answer.
God bless,
Carolyn
