I think that if a name is a truly poorly chosen name, it can alter some sort of a persons life. Wether that mean that the child is made fun of, or their name seems to deflect jobs. I think that a lot of normal names are just canvasses though, and a child can grow into it and make it their own. I don't think the name itself defines a person or causes personality traits, etc. though.
