This site says, it's a short form of Anselma. (This makes sense to me.)
Others claim, it's Galic meaning "fair".
Some say, it's a contracted form of Selima.
In ancient Greek "selma" means "frame-work" (of a ship), but this seams to be pure coincidence.Andy ;—)
