I've read the name "Kiah" several times now. It's supposed to be an Australian female name but I'm not sure how to pronounce it - "KEE-ah" or else "KY-ah"?

Help is appreciated :).

Most women with this name in the USA seem to pronounce it to rhyme with Mariah or "buy a". Of course there are other derivations than the incorrect Australian one. It could be a respelling of Kaya or Kaia; and it has also been used for boys as a pet form of Hezekiah.

KEE-uh

It's pronounced the same as the car manufacturor, Kia.

It's NOT an Australian name, though! It's widely used throughout the English-speaking world. A Google image search for Kiah gets 5260 hits worldwide; if you restrict the search to Australian sites, you only get 217 hits.

There are only a very small number of truly Australian names, and this isn't one of them.

Thanks for that info. I've read that Kiah is a female Australian name twice now but maybe the websites weren't very good ;).
