Hi,
I am looking for an origin and meaning of name MATHEA (pronounced mata_ya), it is supposed to be old english or irish.....I know girl with that name and I really like it.I didn't find it in the list here.

The meaning is the same as Matthew (click on it) because it is derived from it. For the origin I can only say for sure that is the feminine form of Mattheus in the Netherlands (though it's not used very often). I don't know about the English/Irish origin.
