Re: The name Audie for a man.
One of the comments on this site's entry for Audie is from a family where the name is traditional, and says it is an Irish pet form of Edward. Dunkling & Gosling's Everyman's Dictionary of First Names also says Audie is "probably linked with the Irish form of Edward, Eadbhard." Though I can't find any reference to this in more scholarly books, it would seem more likely to me than the idea that the male name Audie was linked to Audrey.
