AHREN almost sounds like AARON, but I suspect it's rather Scandinavian and it might have something to do with Aar (eagle). Can anybody confirm this?

It's probably not Scandinavian (Scandinavian forms include Arne, Arn, Are and Ari). The combo of the letters A and H are seldom found in the Scandinavian languages. Maybe it's a variant of Aharon?
