I found this name on couple of other less reliable sites. They claimed that Alaine meant dear child to the French and beautiful in Ireland. It also mentioned that it was an obscure surname. DO you find any merit in these claims? I love the name but would rather only use it if it were legitimate and not a Kre8ive spelling of Elaine.
