Machae is from Macha, meaning 'aurora' and it originates from the Sioux language.

Onicie is from the old names Onicia and Onicius used in Quebec (so it's a combination of English and French). Probably a form of Nitius, which is a form of Vinitius, meaning 'wine-grower' or at least related to the Latin word vinitor , which means 'wine-grower'.
