As a Scottish person who knew one I can pretty confidently tell you that it's pronounced AY-lee. Hope that helps you.

I've heard it is pronounced Eye-lith, that is how I was told it was pronounced. I can't be certain as I don't live in it's place of origin, nor do I speak the language.

How you personally pronunce it isn't the question.Please do not just guess at things--this board is for facts, not for your gut feeling (which is not even close to correct).According to Namenerds.com's page of Scottish names, it's pronunced AY-lee or EH-lee. That site has been, in my experience, pretty reliable with pronunciation, but it'd probably be best if someone could confirm that.Array
