Martínez and Santos are spanish last names. Martínez is a "patronimic" last name, it's composed by the name Martino and the sufix "-ez" and means: son of Martino (just like Fernández means "son of Fernando").
Santos means "saints" and is very common in latin America, specially in Mexico.

Click here for Nerio & SantosMartinez is from Martin (click hyperlink) - I can't remember offhand what the 'ez' adds to the name - someone else on here may be able to remember. Mayora I'm not sure about.

the -ez part means 'son of', so Martinez is 'son of Martin'.Mayora means 'great' or 'the great', like the Dutch 'De Groot'.
