Baklava is a delectable flaky pastry with honey and nuts. My grandmother holds the penultimate recipe. Variations are found throughout the Balkans, the Middle East and Northern Africa. The word itself is Turkish, and its earliest use in English is recorded in 1653 (OED).

Sounds very tastyI have always had a weakness for honey and it has much more character than refined sugar, I think.
