This states that Kip is short for Kipling or Christopher. But in the case of murderer Kip Kinkel, is was short for Kipland. I typed that name into the "Most Common Surname" search engine, but got nothing. Is 'Kipland' a real name/surname, or was it made up by Kinkel

I don't know if Kinkel's parents created Kipland on their own, but if so they certainly weren't the first ones to do it. Here are some examples of other Kiplands on the WorldWide Web:
