No, not a comment on "Jager", exactly, but a comment on something else...

I have a comment for you regarding your use of this message board. It's not necessary for you to keep putting up new postings for the same query all the time. We all saw your first query -- at least, those of us who were on-line at the time. Those who log on later, will not only see your first query, but also your subsequent queries -- all on the same thing. It may be perceived as "nagging" -- get it? At the worst, it may even be perceived as "spamming". Either -- or both perceptions -- will add up to a poor impression of you from the rest of the board. If people here have any information or opinions for you, they will gladly share it with you. If they don't have anything for you, then they may not post at all to your query. That's the way it works.-- Nanaea

No you didnt sound mean I am just having a problem with my youngest sons name you sound like an inteligent person maybe you can help me I noticed that you spelt the name "Jaeger" with an "e" after the "a" this is how we currently spell my sons name but it is pronounced J-A-G G-E-R as in mic jagger for example and not like
Y-A-Y ger like I find some people pronouncing it and this is what is prompting me to want to change the spelling of the name. It seems that people are getting it wrong and this is making me have second thoughts about the name and I dont like that feeling. Do you know if it would be difficult to legaly change the spelling ? It would not be like we are changing the name just the spelling. Thanks in advance for any input. Danny

I'd read your first posting, that's how I knew how you spell your son's name. Personally, I like the "Jaeger" spelling -- although I (and probably most people) might pronounce it "Jay-ger" on first sighting, without even taking into consideration the correct, German pronunciation which Daividh had given you. I'm with Daividh on not caring for the "Jagger" spelling at all. I'm not even sure I like the "Jager" spelling."Jaeger" is a cool name. I would stick with it, if I were you, and start pronouncing it "Jay-ger".-- Nanaea

Danny,I agree with Nan. I'd opt for leaving the spelling as-is and using the JAY-ger pronunciation. In the part of the country I grew up in, "Jagger", besides sounding somewhat ugly as a first name (IMHO), would likely be twisted into a certain uncomplimentary nickname...- Da.
