Alabina--meaning and origins
Recently I heard the name Alabina. It's pretty though I wouldn't name my child such. I think it's Arabic. Does anyone know the name's usage, meaning, origin, popularity, etc.? Thanks!

I know Alabina is a music group. According to their website (www.alabina.org) it has two meanings, but it doesn't note a language of origin. It is most likely Arabic like you said. One meaning is "come to me" and the other is "God is between us." I'm not sure of its use as a name though.

Thanks Marija. I too found the group/artist Alabina and I thought more people were named this. I had my own fanciful meaning of this name...but it seems silly. (: By the way, do you live in Spain or no? Which province??

Nope, I'm American that just loves Spain.

ah de verdad? (oh really?)I never meet people in the USA who love Spain. Did you study there or something?

I went there this past summer just for vacation. I spent three weeks there and it was in the middle of all the World Cup madness, so, I had that signature for a while. I was a bit lazy to change it, but yes, I still love Spain. :-)

Possible variant of Albina?

Alabina, Albina, Alban, etc. That's what I was wondering too. I think Alabina is prettier than Albina--maybe someone added an "a" to make it easier to pronounce!
