Re: No subject
Hey Krista,Some of us have been down this road here before, without a lot of resolution.Gawd help me but, "Tre", however ya spell it, always reminds me of the small-town uppity-crusters of South Carolina who've used this nickname to death, and of Old Dog Tray. Not a nn that I'd jump at, but it's not my call...The 5th is easier than the 4th. For 5th you can use "Quint" (for Quintus), which at least sounds like a cool Western gunman dressed in black ("Wire Quint, San Francisco").The equivalent for 4th would be "Quat", which is somewhat abrupt and ugly and at some point could generate the jibe "Come, Quat!" (altho not from anyone as abysmally ignorant as today's children). One otherwise well-done source I have on nicknames suggests "Ivy" as a nick for the 4th. "IV", get it? It sucks, alas. The best solution might be to avoid the situation entirely by changing at least the middle name of future generations, thus making further Roman numerals unnecessary.- Da.
