Are there any names at all that sound like josh-eena or anything similar? In any language? It had been mentioned that someone in the family was thinking of this name. I had to laugh. I know they may change the name but at least it is not any I like, yet that is.

Perhaps they're trying for a female form of Joshua? I haven't heard it before, but it seems possible. Or there's always Sine, or Sheena, which is Irish Gaelic for Jane - perhaps they preferred it with a Jo- in front, as in Joanna.

there is a philipino name that is Sheena. it is close enough. It is the philipino form of jeanne
