Variant of TALITA?Not very like, I know, that a Greek spelling variation should be applied to an Aramaic name. Just a thought ...

Some evidenceI just accidentally ran into St Barsimäus (on a German Website, therefore the ä) who of course is Bartimaios in Greek. And this sure is an Aramaic name.

It could be a misspelling of the name Talisia.

The girl's name Talisa is of Spanish origin, and means "noble birth". It's also known to be a combination of the name Talia and Lisa. :)

Documentation? Please let us know where this information comes from. BTN is a scholarly board, therefore definitions are not considered facts unless they come from reputable sources. However, it does seem likely that it could be a compound/combination use.

http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/TalisaI have also found another meaning from another site, meaning "consecrated from God". Unfortunately, that website is currently out-of-service at the moment.

Unreliable websitesUnfortunately, most "baby names" websites are unreliable---they don't use scholarly sources to back up their claims.
