I never knew anyone with this name, always wondered what it meant. After some research all I found was it's a from the female Irish geltic name delaney. which meant "descendant of the challenger". hope that helps

First of all, Delaney isn't female. It's unisex at the very least, being a surname. Secondly, it doesn't mean "descendant of the challenger":DELANEY m,f
