Name popularity information for Italy is generally hard to come by, and this hitparade for the 30 most popular names of newborns in Italy for 2004 was the first official hitparade that I ever found:

Agata does not "chart" there.
It's funny anyway: I have hitparades for newborns in nearly 20 countries and big cities in my own database, sometimes sporting 500 or even 1000 names, going over several years, and Agata does not chart a single time, anywhere.
Only Agathe hoovers around place 50 for several years now in France...
