"Mephista" is probably a feminine rendering of "Mephisto", which is short for "Mephistopheles", otherwise known as "The Devil".

One is Mephista.
Lucifa from Lucifer.
Belia from Beliel.
...and many more.

P.S. Mephistopheles isn't the Devil.
