The name is derived from Fincham. One of the Fincham migrated from CULPEPER co., Va to Iowa and the name became Finchem rather
than Fincham.
Very public example is Tim Finchem, President of US Golf Association. If you use search engine you will fin Tim
mentioned very frequently.
