I am a Swiss, from the German-speaking part, and I can confirm that Vreneli is a typically-Swiss form of Verena, a diminutive.

I am on shaky ground with the pronounciation notation used here on BtN, but I guess the pronounciation must be written as:
FRE-ne-li

At last a trivia: The Swiss cold coin carries the name "Goldvreneli".
