Subject: Ital (name used in Switzerland)
Author: Lumia   (Authenticated as Lumia)

In the Reding family from Switzerland, it seems that Ital is a more or less usual masculine name since 15th century:

Reding, Ital (der Ältere)
Reding, Ital (der Jüngere)
Reding, Ital von

Is Ital the German form of Italus (Italo in Italian)? Or is it, perhaps, another name, from Germanic origin?

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Lumia
