Didn't Realize I Was Gone, Didja?
Just got back home today from a couple of unplanned days in hospital. I felt great all the time, but seems I had a kidney that had shut down (turned up in an unrelated x-ray session). A bit of fairly minor surgery yesterday and I'm right as rain.Glad to see for once you didn't throw any wild parties while the adults were away...

I know kidney problems are not fun. My grandma just had laser surgery to blast away at a nast kidney stone. Hope you are feeling better soon Davidh!
And I will be gone again for a while because I'm going on vacation to the beach for a week. I'll write again when I get back. It seems I'm always reading this message board's past entries in order to keep up with what's gone on while I was gone. Things won't change anytime soon. BYE!

That sounds very unpleasent indeed, but I am glad to hear that you are now feeling better.I wonder if it would take some kind of general pressure off you kidneys if the substance, which was deposited in kidney stones, was reduced. Perhaps by avoiding eating certain things?I am not a doctor friend, but I just wonder.-Selwyn

Good point, Selwyn . I've heard many people say to avoid tea, chocolate, dark carbonated soft drinks, even beer - you name it.But my kidney doctor says if you're gonna get stones, you're gonna get em, especially where I live. It's a part of the US that's very rocky -- limestone everywhere under very thin soil, and that means calcium in the drinking water. Dr. Desai says there's nowhere in the world worse for kidney stones than this part of the South. So I'll stick with drinking beer. Maybe the water in THAT is from someplace healthier. Cheers!

I noticed your absence Daividh, but I assumed you might have been off on vacation somewhere having fun. This, however, does not sound so fun...I sincerely hope you are feeling better.

Maybe you should stop drinking! J/K Sorry just had to say that cause drinking leads to kidney problems! I know my dad had to deal with that! I am glad you are ok! I was begining to wonder where you went!!

First the kidney stones, then the ulcer, and now this. Man, you're really falling apart, Daividh! Aren't you about due for an annual tune-up, or something? :)Seriously, sorry to hear about the kidney thing -- that didn't sound like fun. Am sending lotsa positive energy and best wishes to you.-- Nanaea

Totally off topic question for you, Phyllis...Hey, have you ever seen the movie *The Craft*? Just curious as to what you thought of it.-- Nanaea

NanaeaNo, but it was one of the movies we discussed last spring in my Wicca & Neopaganism class (on how Hollywood portrays Wicca and witchcraft).
I wish I knew where someone put my notes from that semester, since there were quite a number of things we discussed that I feel you (the second person plural) would find interesting.Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

I was interested to see in the "making of" documentary on the compact disc that a Wiccan (supposedly a former disciple of Starhawk) had actually been consulted in the making of the movie -- even though the movie, itself, was pretty goofy.I was also interested to hear that actress Fairuza Balk claims to be Wiccan, herself. I would've called the character she portrayed in the movie more Satanist than Wiccan, actually. Needless to say, Fairuza played my favorite character. :)-- Nanaea
